2008-09

- Museum School was funded up to $32,200 for the 2008-09 fiscal year.

- Introduced Inside Info: Talk and Tour, a new curator-led tour series for members and guests.

- Launched the Friends'Notes E-news distribution.

- Published new membership brochures, bookmarks, and other promotional material.

- FRAMS volunteers worked its second fundraising casino generating $80,989 in revenue to be allocated to projects over two years.

- FRAMS became a member of AAFRE - the Alberta Association of Fund Raising Executives.  

 

2007-08
- Development of a dedicated website for FRAMS.
- Celebration of FRAMS 25th anniversary and Royal Alberta Museum’s 40th year.
- FRAMS accepted a $1.25 million leadership gift from the Forest Resource Improvement Association of Alberta (FRIAA) in support of the Wild Alberta Gallery.
- A new Fund Development Manual was prepared by the Society.

2006-07
- The Society sponsored the exhibit opening for the Museum’s new Southesk Collection.
- A new membership brochure for the Society was published.
- FRAMS hosted a Friends Wine Tasting Evening friend-raiser.
- FRAMS volunteers worked its first fundraising casino generating $71,000 in proceeds.

2005-06
- The Society approved a new five-year Strategic Plan, in conjunction with the Project Renewal announcement for the Museum as a provincial Centennial legacy project.
- Name of the Society was changed from Friends of the Provincial Museum of Alberta Society to Friends of Royal Alberta Museum Society (FRAMS).

May 24, 2005
- The Provincial Museum of Alberta is designated Royal Alberta Museum by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in commemoration of the province’s Centennial.

2004-05
- Committee structure was formalized – Fundraising, Membership, Newsletter, Nominations, and Project Coordination.
- Bylaws of the Society were revised and the first Policy Manual was approved.

2003-04
- The GO! Program was initiated to assist financially disadvantaged Albertans in visiting the Museum for free.
- Sponsorship by the Society of the Pelicans Diorama in the new Wild Alberta Gallery.

2002-03
- The nature and relationship between the Society and the Museum changed when an expanded program for receiving money allowed the Museum to collect and manage a variety of revenue generating systems.
- The Friends’ Annual Pass Membership Program was transferred to the Museum (now called Mammoth Pass).

2001-02
- Sponsorship by the Society of a fundraising raffle for two framed prints in conjunction with the highly popular SIXTIES exhibit.

2000-01
- In April 2001, the Museum re-assumed responsibility for the collection and accounting of Museum admission fees and the day-to-day operation of the gift shop, café, facility rentals, education programs and special events.

1997
- The Society assisted with the acquisition of the Robert Bell collection in 1989 for the new Syncrude Gallery of Aboriginal Culture, which opened in 1997.

1992
- The Society purchased a hybrid cast of a Columbian Mammoth for $25,000 USD for the Museum.

1990
- Introduction of paid admission to the Museum.

1982
- The Friends of the Provincial Museum of Alberta Society was formed.
