If you would like to become more involved with the Friends of Royal Alberta Museum Society (FRAMS), there are a number of volunteer opportunities available, including the Board of Directors and various committees. Please see below for details and contact information.

VOLUNTEER ON A FRAMS COMMITTEE OR ON THE BOARD

Are you interested in getting more involved with the Friends on an ongoing basis?

Standing committees of the Friends of Royal Alberta Museum Society include:

- Communications

- Fund Development

- Nominations

- Project Coordination

Each committee is chaired by a member of the Board of Directors.

CALL FOR NOMINATIONS - VOLUNTEER BOARD MEMBERS!

We are looking for two conscientious volunteer Board members who have an interest in leadership, strategic direction, and committee work and who are interested in getting actively involved with FRAMS in supporting the Royal Alberta Museum.  

If you are interested, please submit a candidate statement of 100 words or less stating your skills, talents, and interest in supporting the Friends of Royal Alberta Museum Society (FRAMS).
Requirements include:
·          Being a member in good standing of the Friends of Royal Alberta Museum Society
·          Commitment to the Mission of FRAMS
·          Attendance at monthly Board meetings and the Annual General Meeting (AGM)
·          Willingness to serve on a committee and attend occasional committee meetings
·          Support of and participation in special events and/or fundraising events
·          The ability to communicate by e-mail is desirable.  

Experience, knowledge, skills or interest in natural/cultural history, tourism, business management, board and policy development, committee leadership, fundraising or event planning would be beneficial. Board members are initially elected for a two-year term, with a maximum of six years. Standing committees, which are each chaired by a Board member, include: Communications; Fund Development; Membership; and Nominations Committees. 

Candidate statements for the AGM in June must be received at the FRAMS office by early May in order to be included in the AGM Notice of Meeting and for the name to be placed on the Proxy/Ballot. If a statement is longer than 100 words, only the first 100 words will be printed.
