Drop by the FRAMS booth! This event is hosted by the Shaw Conference Centre and Edmonton Economic Development Corporation to showcase Edmonton's many not-for-profit organizations.

August 11, 2009 - Inside Info: Talk and Tour
Several FRIENDS turned out for an interpreter-led Talk and Tour of the Syncrude Gallery of Aboriginal Culture.

May 19, 2009 - Inside Info: Talk and Tour
The popular Bug Room at the Royal Alberta Museum was featured for the second interpreter-led Talk and Tour.  
 
February 10, 2009 - Inside Info: Talk and Tour
The Membership Committee introduced a new curator-led tour series designed for members of FRAMS and their guests. The first program featured "Heights of Fashion" (the history of footwear from the Bata Shoe Museum) at the Royal Alberta Museum. 
 
November 28, 2008 - Winter Appreciation Event
FRAMS and the Royal Alberta Museum co-hosted this annual event for Mammoth Pass Holders and Friends' members, which was attended by 300 people.  
 
October 5-6, 2008 - Fundraising Casino
Thank you to the Fund Development Committee and 34 casino volunteers who supported our second fundraising casino, generating $80,989 in revenue to be allocated to FRAMS projects over two years. 
 
August 23, 2008 - Everyone for Edmonton Event
The Friends of Royal Alberta Museum Society participated with a booth and Communications Committee volunteers in the first Everyone for Edmonton event at the Shaw Conference Centre, which was attended by 1,000 visitors.  
 
June 13, 2008 - DRAGONS Opening
The Friends of Royal Alberta Museum Society was a partial sponsor for the opening event of the summer long feature exhibition DRAGONS.  Commemorative magnets for the launch of the new FRAMS website were distributed to all guests.
 
December 3-9, 2007 - Celebrating Mammoth Milestones
Just in case you missed the kick-off to the Royal Alberta Museum’s 40th year and the Friends of Royal Alberta Museum Society (FRAMS) 25th anniversary, here’s a look back at a few memorable moments from the celebrations which took place December 3-9, 2007.

Museum School
On December 3, 2007, Minister of Tourism, Parks, Recreation and Culture, Hector Goudreau and Dr. Bruce McGillivray accept a $32,200 cheque presented by FRAMS President Godfrey Huybregts, on behalf of the Friends of Royal Alberta Museum Society, in support of Museum School.


November 8, 2007 - Robert Bateman Get to Know Evening

On November 8, 2007, FRAMS President Godfrey Huybregts and Vice President Marla Daniels met with renowned wildlife artist and conservationist Robert Bateman. Following the launch of his interactive science CD Get to Know, Bateman commented on his return to the Royal Alberta Museum, “I do feel like I’m coming home. This is a museum the way it should be. The (Wild Alberta) dioramas are spectacular. They are a priceless heritage – they’re SO good – they’re up there with the best in the world.”

July 23, 2007 - FRIAA $1.25 Million Presentation
On July 23, 2007, the Forest Resource Improvement Association of Alberta (FRIAA) invested $1.25 million, through FRAMS, to enrich the Wild Alberta Gallery at the Museum over the next 10 years.

May 3, 2007 - The Southesk Collection Opening
On May 3, 2007, the Friends of Royal Alberta Museum Society sponsored a preview for the exhibit Stories from the Southesk Collection: A 150-Year Journey. In 2006, the Museum's Ethnology Program acquired this important collection of First Nations and Metis artifacts that had been collected in 1859-60 by James Carnegie, the Ninth Earl of Southesk, during a trip through Western Canada.
