The Friends of Royal Alberta Museum Society assists the Royal Alberta Museum with the collection, preservation and interpretation of the heritage of Alberta, and in bringing the world to Albertans and visitors. The Friends of Royal Alberta Museum Society (FRAMS) is a registered charity and not-for-profit organization made up of a volunteer Board of Directors and general members. The Society was formed in 1982 by citizens concerned about maintaining a high level of public support for the Royal Alberta Museum in Edmonton, Canada. The Friends of Royal Alberta Museum Society is involved in fundraising and friend-raising, public and school programs, maintaining artifacts and expanding collections in support of the Royal Alberta Museum.

MISSION
The FRAMS will support and enhance the objectives and activities of the Royal Alberta Museum through a mutually beneficial relationship.

GOALS
(from the FRAMS 2008-2011 Strategic Plan)  

  1. Build support for the Royal Alberta Museum in the community by increasing FRAMS visibility so it is recognized as a major cultural society in the Capital Region.  
  1. Maintain and strengthen liaison with the community by providing community input, advice and guidance. 
  1. Financially support education, access and other core programs of the Royal Alberta Museum by:

       a.    increasing the number of FRAMS members
       b.    increasing fundraising revenue.

4.   Enhance FRAMS managerial and administrative framework by having:

       a.     a balanced budget 
       b.     a smooth process for the review and approval of funding requests to FRAMS 
       c.     a Board orientation and development program

The Friends of Royal Alberta Museum Society is registered with Canada Revenue Agency and all donations are tax-deductible. Our registered Charitable Business Number is 118933225RR0001.
